Pennsylvania Educator, Leslie Nicholas, accepts the 2013 NEA Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence and $25,000

 

 

Leslie Nicholas, a language arts teacher a language arts teacher at Wyoming Valley West Middle School in Kingston, PA and member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, accepted one of public education's top honors: The NEA Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence and $25,000. Nicholas accepted the award in front of an audience of more than 800 education leaders at the NEA Foundation Salute to Excellence in Education Gala in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 8, 2013. He is one of five educators who also received the Horace Mann Awards for Teaching Excellence and $10,000.

Known as the Academy Awards of public education, the gala is an annual celebration of the men and women who work in America's public schools.
